Frequently Asked Questions
Who do you work with?
I work primarily with womxn and non-binary femmes navigating anxiety, depression, complex PTSD, ADHD, and the lasting impact of trauma. Many of my clients have experienced family conflict, narcissistic or emotionally immature parents, childhood sexual abuse, or relational trauma. I also support those struggling with disordered eating, body image concerns, or body dysmorphia. My approach is holistic, feminist, and anti-racist, which means I see you as a whole person while honoring how systems and culture shape your lived experience.
What is your therapeutic approach?
I use a holistic, person-centered approach that integrates multiple evidence-based modalities. I am trained in EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic Experiencing, and Art Therapy. This allows me to tailor our work to your unique needs, using techniques that support both mind and body. My approach is also informed by feminist and anti-racist frameworks, meaning I recognize how systemic oppression shapes trauma and healing, and I strive to create a safe, inclusive, and empowering space.
What is holistic therapy, and what does it mean for me?
Holistic therapy considers the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. This means we focus not just on symptoms, but also on your physical sensations, emotional experiences, creative expression, and the ways your environment and culture affect your mental health. Holistic approaches help you develop tools to cope, process trauma, and reconnect with your authentic self.
How do you incorporate Art Therapy and neuroscience into your work?
Art Therapy provides non-verbal ways to explore feelings, process trauma, and express parts of yourself that might be hard to put into words. By integrating neuroscience-informed modalities—like EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, and IFS—we can help your brain process and integrate experiences in ways that support lasting healing. Together, these approaches create a bridge between creativity, self-expression, and brain-based healing.
I’m not “good at art”—can I still benefit from Art Therapy?
Absolutely. Art Therapy is not about skill or creating a perfect piece—it’s about using the creative process as a tool for expression and insight. The art becomes a way to explore thoughts, emotions, and experiences safely, with guidance, rather than a product to be judged.
How long does therapy usually take?
Therapy is highly individual. Some clients notice relief or clarity in just a few sessions, while others engage in months or years of work to address complex trauma and long-standing patterns. Together, we’ll set goals, track progress, and adjust approaches so your therapy fits your pace and needs.
Do you work with clients who have disordered eating or body image concerns?
Yes. I understand how disordered eating, body dysmorphia, and trauma are often interconnected. In therapy, we explore the underlying emotional, relational, and systemic factors while promoting self-compassion, body awareness, and a more integrated sense of self. My approach is aligned with Health at Every Size (HAES) and body-positive frameworks.
What makes your practice feminist and anti-racist?
I intentionally create a space that acknowledges and addresses how oppression—racism, sexism, fatphobia, ableism, and other forms of systemic bias—impacts mental health and trauma. Therapy is collaborative and empowering, with an emphasis on your agency, voice, and intersectional identity. I actively work to challenge harmful cultural narratives and support clients in reclaiming their power.
How do I know if therapy with you is right for me?
If you’re seeking a compassionate, trauma-informed, holistic space where your experiences are understood and your healing is centered, therapy with me may be a good fit. A consultation session can help you explore whether my approach aligns with your goals and comfort level.
